In late 2018, the world saw the first ever Caliburn kit: a sleek, low-maintenance pod device that redefined MTL vaping as we knew it. It delivered an easy-to-use, low maintenance vape with an auto-draw function that was still new to the vaping world. Plus, it utilised pods with built-in coils, which made maintenance a breeze.
Each model offers its own unique set of features, improving upon its predecessor with every new iteration. From the original Caliburn to the KOKO to the latest model, the Explorer, there are over a dozen different versions to choose from—so if you’re shopping around to buy Caliburn, it can be hard to decide which is right for you.

No. The Caliburn Explorer pod utilises replaceable Uwell Caliburn G & G2 coils, which will need to be replaced regularly.
Thankfully, this means your pod should last you a long time and will only need to be replaced if it becomes cracked, leaky, or no longer holds its coils securely in place.
You should change the coils once the vape starts to lose flavour or you taste a hint of burning. For most vapers, this is generally once every week or two depending on your usage and E-Liquid.
Regardless of which coil resistance you choose, you should only be using high-PG (50%+) E-Liquids in your Explorer. This includes nicotine salts, 50/50 shortfills, and freebase 10ml E-Liquids.
The Explorer can hold up to 2ml of E-Liquid per TPD regulations. Due to the split-pod design, this means there is 1ml of space on either side of the pod.

For most vapers, the Caliburn G3 pods will last a week or two before they need to be replaced. You can tell it’s time to replace your pod once the flavour starts to fade or you get hints of a burnt taste.
In my experience, the Caliburn G3 took roughly 40 minutes to charge from 0% to full battery thanks to its ultra-fast 2A USB Type-C charging.
You can adjust the wattage by pressing the button 3 times in quick succession. Then, press the button until you reach your desired wattage. Once you’ve hit your preferred wattage, let the interface rest until the screen stops blinking.
To lock or unlock the button, press it twice. You can choose between button only, auto-draw only, and “auto,” which allows for both button and auto-inhale activation.

No. The Caliburn A3 is slightly thinner than the A2 device, so the pods are not compatible.
You’ll need to purchase Uwell Caliburn A3 pods for your A3 device.
Uwell advertises that the A3 takes 15 minutes to charge when using a USB type-C fast charger. It may take longer to charge with a standard USB-C charger.
Unfortunately, no charging cable is supplied with the device, so you’ll need to purchase one separately if you don’t already own one.
Like the other devices in the range, the A3 should only be paired with high-PG E-Liquids like nic salts or 50/50 juices.
Because the pods have built-in coils, when the coil starts to degrade, you’ll need to discard the entire pod and replace it with a new one.

The device's ease-of-use paired with its simple, near-seamless functionality made the vape pod a star among vapers worldwide.
One thing the Caliburn models have in common is that they all come with spare parts—2 pods for models that take disposable pods, and 2 coils for models that take changeable coils. This is something that many vapers wish other manufacturers would adopt.
And while not every device comes with a charging cable, which some vapers find a bit stingy, a USB type-C charging cable is a cheap but useful investment, and you may have a spare one lying around at home anyway. Plus, I'd take a spare replacement part over a USB cable any day—though that's just my personal opinion.
It would appear that the Caliburn series is immortal—at least, for now. It shows no signs of slowing as of 2023. It's still the go-to pod kit for vapers around the globe, thanks to its portability, low-maintenance design, and simple aesthetic. Plus, the affordability factor doesn't hurt, either.
